White Pizza Sauce

White Pizza Sauce is a rich and creamy alternative to traditional tomato-based sauces, offering a smooth blend of Parmesan cheese, garlic, and herbs. This sauce enhances vegetable and meat pizzas, works beautifully in calzones, and pairs well with pasta dishes like chicken and broccoli fettuccine. Its velvety texture and flavorful depth make it a versatile kitchen staple, and it freezes well for future use.

  • Total Time: 18 minutes

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ¼ cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 large clove garlic, minced

  • 1 cup milk, or more as needed
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh basil
  • ½ teaspoon chopped fresh oregano (Optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  •  teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients.

  2. Heat butter and olive oil in a small saucepan over medium heat; stir in onion and garlic. Whisk in flour until lightly browned and onion is tender, about 2 minutes.

  4. Add more milk if sauce is too thick. Remove from heat.
