Filling
- 250 g cottage cheese
- 50 g grated parmigiano
- 1 egg
- 40 g pearl onions, 3-4 onions
- 1/3 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Black pepper, to taste
Crust
- 1 pie crust, store-bought or homemade
Instructions
- Press a pie crust into a tart pan. Prick the bottom and sides of the crust with a fork. Pre-bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 10 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, crack and lightly whisk an egg. Add the cottage cheese, grated parmigiano, and salt. Stir well to combine.
- Peel and thinly slice the pearl onions lengthways. Lightly brush the top side of the slices with olive oil.
- Remove the pre-baked crust from the oven. Spread the cheese and egg mixture evenly over the base.
- Arrange the thinly sliced onions over the filling, with the oiled side facing up. Dust with freshly cracked black pepper.
- Return the tart to the oven and bake for 30-35 minutes at 200°C, until the filling is set and the top is golden brown.
